Community Making and Digital Learning
The plan is to purchase some digital tools and computers for the maker space that would create access to community making and digital learning, such as 3D printing, coding, etc. This would be a precursor or pilot to the partnership work we are working towards with the school district to build a community-based digital maker space for elementary-middle school students. The activities would include coding classes and projects, both in the museum and at-home; integrated maker activities using digital tools such as Makey Makey and Hummingbird; youth entrepreneurial activities using maker tools such as 3D printers and vinyl and laser cutters.
